Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for the purpose of well-being, preventive and sometimes curative. Some use them therapeutically with the aim of treating a specific symptom. These very powerful concentrates can also provide access to serenity and relaxation.
Essential oils are a precious commodity to be used sparingly. They are very powerful and deserve that you educate yourself on their properties. For example, some can burn the skin, others are harmful to pregnant women and young children while others are flammable (do not blindly put in the dryer).
Properties
Here are the main properties of the oils offered here:
Organic Eucalyptus Globulus - Eucalyptus globulus var globulus
Used in aromatherapy to relieve respiratory discomfort. Adult: Add 4-12 drops to a bowl of boiling water/facial steamer. Inhale slowly for 5-10 minutes, once daily.
Pink grapefruit - Citrus paradisi
Used in aromatherapy to help relieve stress and nervous tension as well as to help relieve edema. It reduces the appearance of cellulite.
White camphor - Cinnamomum camphora
Used in aromatherapy to help relieve joint and muscle pain associated with sprains, strains and rheumatoid arthritis. Adult: Mix 1 to 5 drops in 1 teaspoon (5ml) of vegetable oil; apply to affected area, 3 times daily
Organic ylang ylang totum - Cananga odorata genuina
Used in aromatherapy as a sedative to relieve nervousness and restlessness as well as symptoms related to premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Topical (Adults): Mix 1 to 2 drops in 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of vegetable oil; apply locally, 3 times a day. Inhalation (Nervous system) Add 4 to 12 drops to a bowl of hot water or a diffuser. Inhale slowly for 5-10 minutes.
Organic tea tree - Melaleuca alternifolia
Used as a germicide and antiseptic for the relief of minor skin conditions and abrasions. Adult: Apply pure or mix 5 to 10 drops in 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of vegetable oil; apply to the affected area 3 times a day
Organic lemon - Citrus limonum
Used in aromatherapy to relieve cold and flu symptoms. Inhalation Add 4-12 drops to a bowl of hot water or put in a diffuser. Inhale slowly and deeply for 5-10 minutes.
Organic patchouli - Pogostemon cablin
Used in aromatherapy for the symptomatic relief of acne and eczema, to relieve minor skin irritations, and as a nerve calming agent. Topical (adults) Mix 1-2 drops in 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) of vegetable oil; apply topically, 3 times daily. Inhalation (nervous system) Add 4-12 drops to a bowl of warm water or a diffuser. Inhale slowly for 5-10 minutes.
Sweet orange - Citrus sinensis
Used in aromatherapy for its sedative action to relieve symptoms related to mild anxiety, nervousness and insomnia.
